Did you know there is a useful website with tools to help parents and carers understand how to deal with bullying?
Lots more information is available on the anti-bullying alliance website, available from this link:
In conjunction with Lancashire Police and Lancashire Safeguarding Board, Higher Walton CE Primary School is involved in a national initiative called “Operation Encompass”. The purpose of Operation Encompass is to safeguard and support children and young people who have been involved in, heard or witnessed a domestic abuse incident.
Following an incident, children will often arrive at school distressed, upset, worried and unprepared. Previously there have been no procedures for reporting Domestic Abuse incidents to schools which means that our children are left without the support and nurture that they need when they need it most. Operation Encompass aims to ensure that by 8.30am on the next school day the school’s Key Adult, is made aware of any incidents to help and support children and young people in a way that means they feel safe and included.
This is a valuable initiative that means we can help and support students and their families within our school when they need us most.
You can find out more information by visiting the Operation Encompass website www.operationencompass.org or by contacting the school’s Key Adult, Mrs Rourke.
